No Longer A Whippersnapper

My 20+ year stretch as a technologist began in the green phosphor era of minicomputers.  You may not even believe what I’ve seen done within 2K of RAM.

Today, I invest in early stage software and software services (SaaS) startups through Ingk Labs. I am currently CTO at Ingk spinoff ActiveCause, a middleware platform for sustainable giving that connects individuals and employees with nonprofits and socially responsible companies. Together with our partners, we have great plans in store for philanthropy – on a massive scale.

Prior to ActiveCause, I founded Ingk spinoff InstantService, where Internet customer service was invented before IBM coined “eCommerce.” (acquired by ATG / Nasdaq:ARTG) — yadayada here

Interests

I have my eyes on high-tech systems in philanthropy, corporate/social responsibility, education, patent law/strategy, mobile devices, massively parallel computing, machine intelligence, web services/api, cashless commerce — and the sweet spot where they conjoin.

Mentors

Ric Weiland, Dr. George Kozmetsky, Ray Smelek, J.R. (Jack) Simplot
